Our Story
Purity, healing and restoration — the heart behind the Trust
Pearls & Treasures Trust exists to reach women of all ages with the truth about their worth, their sexuality and their God-given hope.
Who we are
Addressing the issues that shape a woman’s heart
We seek to address sexuality issues in society, reaching women of all ages and from all walks of life with the message of purity, healing and restoration.
Some come to us in the middle of a crisis pregnancy. Some carry the private pain of a past abortion. Some are walking out of abuse or compromise, and some are young women simply trying to understand who they are. Wherever a woman begins, our forums are non-judgmental, safe and confidential — and though our core ministry is towards women, we also hold forums that cater for men.

What we believe
Our convictions
The gift of sexuality
Our God-given mandate is to share the truth about sex and sexuality as He intended it — designed for the committed relationship of marriage, and honoured through sexual purity.
The sanctity of life
We believe life begins at conception and ends in natural death, and we stand for every life — and for the women and children behind every story.
Truth that sets free
We share these truths through school outreaches, workshops, seminars, retreats, church forums and door-to-door life outreaches.

Founder’s testimony
The birth of Pearls & Treasures Trust
PEARLS was birthed in my heart in 2003, after compromising my sexuality and trying to find my identity in worldly standards. At the age of twenty I got involved in a wrong relationship and lost my purity. I became pregnant and, when the man showed no interest in the responsibility, I opted for an abortion. In the year 2000 I gave my life to Christ, yet without knowing the biblical standards of purity I again fell into a relationship, became pregnant, and had a second abortion.
It was during that time of intense pain and guilt that I began to seek the truth about God’s love and His purposes for my life. I wanted complete healing — for my heart, mind, spirit, body and soul — and I knew only God could give it.
“PEARLS is the heart of God, and those it draws are drawn to the heart of God.”
From vision to ministry
A vision carried through a process
With the help of my former pastors, Ron and Wanda Sommers, I found God’s restoration, forgiveness, love and acceptance. He began to teach me that sex is sacred — an act of worship when done in the right place, at the right time, and with the right person — and that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I knew there were women who had gone through, or were going through, what I did, and I longed to tell them that God loves them unconditionally.
When God gives a vision, it moves through stages. In 2004 I ministered in over thirty high schools through Student Venture Kenya. In 2005 I trained in sexuality with Crisis Pregnancy Ministries and taught abstinence and purity across Nairobi. In 2006 I trained with Tanari Trust and joined them as a Program Assistant. In 2007 Family Media invited me to share my testimony on television and radio, opening doors for women who had procured abortions to seek counsel.
In 2008, with the Lord’s leading, I launched into Pearls & Treasures. At the end of 2009 I completed post-abortion counselling training with Crisis Pregnancy Ministries Kenya — the missing piece of the puzzle — and soon after launched the post-abortion counselling and support groups that remain so close to my heart and so timely for Kenya.
