Past and Current Events


2015 marked 5 years since we began Pearls & Treasures Trust and it was the same year that the official launch happened. The event took place at the All Saints Cathedral Church and was graced by the presence of Teresa Okafor from the UK. Miss Teresa is the Director of Foundation for African Cultural Heritage and the CEO of Life League. She is passionate about pro-life and upholding godly values in the society. The key note address was given by Mr. Charles Kanjama an Advocate of the High Court and the Vice Chairman of the Kenya Christian Professionals Forum (KCPF).


Dubbed the “THE BIG SISTER PROJECT” the Mathare Teen Moms program is an outreach that aimed at educating the teens on sexuality, relationships as well as crisis pregnancy and abortion. 30 teen mothers successfully went through the program and were awarded certificates at a colourful graduation ceremony held on 3rd September 2016 at Cardinal Otunga Plaza. The guest honour was Miss Sonnie Gitonga who is the founder of Scars to Stars Foundation. The graduation was a celebration of effort, commitment and transformation of the teen mothers.


Kamae Borstal Institution is the first female teenage correctional facility in Kenya. Having successfully run the Hadassah Mentorship Program there, we were able to graduate 20 girls aged between 15-17 years at a graduation ceremony held on 6th September 2017. Together with the graduation, we held a fashion show where the girl with the most improved attitude and behaviour was crowned as Miss Kamae 2017. The guest of honour was Miss Juliet Kola of Ministry of East African Community, Labour and Social Protection.
